There's an Elephant in the Room: Developing Conflict Competent Teams
This in-service workshop will help supervisors:
- identify the most common types of conflicts affecting workplaces and teams.
- recognize typical conflict cycles of escalation and options for action at each stage.
- practice an interest-based problem-solving approach
- apply quick intervention techniques when acting as an intermediary in a conflict between two or more members of their team
Conflict resolution skills are a critical management competency. When co-operation and collaboration are low, effects are seen in diminished productivity and customer service, increased sick leave use and medical claims, and even in your ability to recruit and retain the best people.
With a little help, people can find new ways to communicate during times of conflict. This session will give you tools to help recognize different types of conflict and resolve differences with and among others before small issues become unmanageable.
