Tackling Absenteeism and "Presenteeism" In Your Organization
This in-service workshop will help supervisors:
- identify the root causes of absenteeism and presenteeism as well as its relation to burnout
describe practical approaches to address root causes of absenteeism and presenteeism
- describe absenteeism; differentiate between innocent and culpable absenteeism
Does this sound familiar? It's Friday before a long weekend and there seems to be a “bug” going around since no one feels well enough to work. On the other hand, you have a group of staff members who will be there for you even when they are ill and really should be home in bed. This workshop will examine absenteeism and “presenteeism” (coming to work when ill) and discuss three tools you can use to identify the root cause of the behaviour, clearly communicate your needs to the staff member, and effect the desired change in behaviour without a lot of hassle.
